A #chicvibesonly Graduation Gift From Links of London

As I write my final university assignment I find myself almost giddy with anticipation about finally graduating. I can’t help but wonder what shoes I should wear or which Tom Ford lipstick goes with a graduation gown… Although, with the distress of finding the perfect dress comes the indulgence of picking out a graduation gift. Naturally, I wanted to choose something that will last a lifetime seeing as that’s how long my degree seemed to take… Therefore, I began considering jewellery and that’s when the redefined Links of London Sweetie Bracelet became my new #chicvibesonly accessory.  What I love most about this bracelet is that it can be personalised, which was the kind of distinctive attribute I was looking for. When it came to designing my Sweetie, I took to their online ‘bracelet builder,’ which allows you to choose from a huge selection of charms and rings to create and visualise your bracelet. I instantly added gold-tone rings, since I like to wear both gold and silver jewellery. As I scrolled through the various charms available, I was …

A Note on Personal Style

Over the past few weeks, I couldn’t help but pose a question of personal style. What makes an authentic personal style? Wearing three new-in pieces from Zara, is that personal style? Is imitating your favourite fashion blogger who wore flatforms with a red blazer and leather pants whilst posing down a whimsical Kensington street… is that personal style? To me, personal style is creating outfits that you love, that you put together from your own vision whilst you were ironing your bedding on a Sunday afternoon, watching Sex and The City reruns… Perhaps it’s inspired by your favourite designers but ultimately, you wear exactly what you want to wear and with any luck, something that makes you feel remarkable. I’ve never been happy with my style, I might have had a cute bag and shoes but the clothes part was never that great. In recent times, I’ve began to truly ascertain my own personal aesthetic and as a result my style has developed tremendously. Not only has my confidence grown but I feel more like …

Life is Gucci

Yes, I bought the gold Gucci shoes of my dreams and yes my life has never been better. I am writing this a week in advance as said shoes have been sat in my bedroom waiting to be worn and adored for just under a month now and my anticipation is eagerly mounting. However, as you’re reading this it’s actually my 22nd Birthday! SO, I purchased them online from Farfetch and they were delivered from Italy within two days. I have used Farfetch to purchase numerous luxury accessories and I always find their service and product selection to be pretty good. My Gucci Marmonts were beautifully wrapped in a Gucci box and came with two cream silk dust bags, perfect for travelling. They’re leather soled and fit like a glove however, I had previously tried the heeled pair on and so I knew I needed a size down as Gucci fits big. I take these in a 38 but I am typically a 39 in my other shoes like Tods, Lanvin or Louboutin. Also, they are …

Acne Studios: The Canada Scarf

I couldn’t help but wonder what my most worn piece in my wardrobe is and after much consideration, I decided upon my Acne Studios Canada scarves. I currently have two and intend on acquiring more colours in the near future. Not only are they pure Italian quality, they’re basically a blanket luxuriously disguised as a scarf. They compliment my tiresome commute impeccably, and make it even easier for me to tilt my head comfortably whilst I snooze ungracefully on the train at 7.42am. Composed of 100% wool, a Canada scarf is an Acne Studios staple and will keep you warm in oversized style, flattering any coat or cosy knit.  I reach for mine everyday and find the understated and simplistic vibe of Acne to be my preferred one at present. As I build my accessory collection, I find myself choosing pieces that I not only adore but that will always frame my wardrobe effortlessly. My Canada scarves are my go-to and a piece I would warmly recommend investing in. #chicvibesonly   EKD X

Thoughts on the Large Lady Dior

I actually shocked myself when I sat down to write this and realised I bought my Lady Dior bag a year ago this month. Granted, it sat in my room unopened for another six weeks until my 21st Birthday, but still! It’s been exactly twelve months since I made my greatest and most anticipated purchase! So, is it worth the money? Absolutely. Each size of the Lady has increased substantially in price since I purchased mine, I paid £2750 in February 2016. The Large currently retails for £3200, look how much bag you are getting for your buck though… in comparison, a large classic Chanel bag is now £4830. From an investment point of view, after one year my bag still looks brand new and I have confidence that if I were ever to sell it (like I would haha) I would definitely get my money back, which is a comforting thought when paying a significant amount of money for a bag. Yearly Dior price increases and Brexit have affected the escalation but, would I buy …

The September Issue ’16

“Picture perfect sexiness now feels boring” – An assertion of wonderful significance I just had to jot down from British Vogue and share with you as they welcome The New SASS! “…A modern word for opinionated sexiness” and I am obsessed! Sass is in and so are grungy florals paired with a polished VB boot – take your sass to the streets and feel yourself gals, because just like that, it is Autumn again and I find myself eagerly flicking through September Vogue to gleefully absorb this year’s trends, brands to watch, IT girls and newly launched beauty products I just have to try. As Fashion month has come to a close I am back again to divulge the takeaways from this year’s September Issue and reveal the must read articles, latest investment pieces and the unsubtle building blocks you need for your autumn wardrobe. As a fashion aficionada, I find the September Issue a collection of intoxicating and complex style, full of expression and #chicvibesonly and as it happens, last years’ article is probably my …

Christian Dior Diorissimo Wallet

After using my Lady Dior with my Louis Vuitton Insolite wallet, I decided it was just too big and bulky for the bag. It’s such a great wallet, it wears amazingly well and is perfect for everyday however, I don’t feel it’s suited to the Lady Dior. I wanted something smaller, delicate and black. This led me to my Christian Dior boutique once again, to go through as many Dior wallets as I could to find ‘the one.’  I ended up going for the Medium “Diorissimo” Voyageur wallet in black calf leather and contrasting Rose Indien interior with champagne gold hardware. I wanted something smaller than my LV, and so this medium size is perfect! It’s made from an absolutely beautiful textured calf leather and so will resist scratches from the zip of the Lady Dior. It houses eight card slots, a zipped coin compartment and an interior middle pocket. It also comes with the detachable Dior charm for added elegance. I absolutely adore this wallet, it’s a beautiful and convenient size without being too small. …

The House of Christian Dior

When I think of Christian Dior Couture, I think of elegance, romance and beautiful silhouettes. I picture gorgeous tailoring, Paris and Princess Diana. I envision the lady boss that is Charlize Theron and the delicacy of Natalie Portman in a Miss Dior couture gown. I think of 30, Avenue Montaigne and I also consider the man himself, the couturier – the founder of the House of Christian Dior. Now, I think it’s about time I address my obscene fascination with one of the worlds greatest fashion houses. I fell madly in love with Dior after spending a serendipitous afternoon admiring everything from ballerina flats to lilac silk scarves, back in January 2016. I remember previously visiting the very same boutique back when I was 16 and discovering luxury fashion for the first time. It was just as magical now as it was back then. I have found the associates in Dior to be second to non. From New Bond Street to Dubai, I have never had such incredible customer service. The way my SA understands my …

Chanel Slingbacks

I purchased my first pair of Chanel shoes back in January 2012, they were the two-tone classic flat in lambskin leather and I felt like a princess! There is something about Chanel that I am obsessed with. I adore the heritage, the classic yet contemporary style and the chic vibes. I am all about investing in key fashion accessories that are timeless and I feel Chanel is the perfect avenue to go down when it comes to investment pieces. When I was in London a few weeks ago, the suede slingbacks were out of stock and so I didn’t think I would manage to score a pair. About a week later I called a few boutiques in London but couldn’t quite nail down a re-stock date from an assistant. Luckily, I have a connection from the Manchester boutique in Selfridges and dropped her an email. My name was added to the waiting list and just four days later I got THE call! From my experience with my other pairs of shoes from Chanel, I knew I …

The September Issue ’15

As you may know, September is the single most important month in fashion, it is the month of the four most significant weeks in the industry: Fashion Week! As NYFW has come to an end and LFW is well underway, I thought it was most appropriate to breakdown all the takeaways from the September Issues and fill you in on all the standout trends you need to be incorporating into your autumn wardrobe. Think androgynous yet feminine, think the return of the Mary Jane and think camel coats. September is the month to embrace tailoring, tweed and turtlenecks – am I the only one getting overexcited?! There is something about fashion that I find so empowering and nothing brings me more delight than flicking through the September Issue! Well, other than brunch but let’s be honest, the September Issue comes pretty damn close to Eggs Benedict, a freshly squeezed juice and a skinny latte, right? This year I was determined not to miss out on any autumn trends, celebrity interviews or Gigi Hadid editorials and …
