My Beauty Secrets

It was August 2014 when I bought my very first jar of Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. A pop-up counter had just arrived in Selfridges Manchester and I was absolutely desperate to try the mystical potion of wonder for myself. 3 years on and countless different creams later, I find myself right back where I started – infatuated with Magic Cream. From Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré to Clarins HydraQuench and Kiehls Ultra Face Cream, nothing compares to CT MC, despite all my eager efforts. My secret to beautiful skin is a thorough skincare routine; this sumptuous crème has a light and illuminating formula like no other and instantly hydrates my lacklustre complexion. Magic Cream exudes a decadent rose aroma that is delicately feminine and as the glamorous jar resides on my vanity, I can’t help but think that this cream will always be worth its mighty £70 price tag. As I discussed here, I love using cream products especially in the summer because they create such a radiant and skin-like finish. Thus, when I spied the Nars Orgasm …

Clarins HydraQuench Cream | Say Goodbye to Dry Skin!

I have just purchased my third jar of the Clarins HydraQuench moisturising face cream and I still haven’t done a raving blog post on it. This is so overdue! Much like the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream, which I still adore by the way, the Clarins HydraQuench cream is richly moisturising and smells divine! The silky consistency glides over the skin effortlessly and still has that luxuriousness to it. The non-oily formula firms the skin and the creamy gel texture promotes an immediate cooling effect as it is absorbed. It is also amazing underneath makeup or mixed in with your foundation, as it adds a glorious radiance to your complexion as well as sheering out that full coverage. I depend on the HydraQuench cream morning, night and before makeup application and have been doing so for months. It is perfect for my dehydrated and dry skin since it has such a hydrating formula. This cream is especially ideal for the colder months as those pesky dry patches appear! It leaves my skin smooth, soothed and hydrated, also when I miss …

What I Got For Christmas 2014

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and got everything you were hoping for. I always love seeing what others got for Christmas and so I thought I would do a post myself, showing you my highlights!  I was inundated with incredible treats this year, many of which have been on my wishlist for months! Firstly I got a few books. One I’d been thinking of getting for a while now was Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes. I’m not a massive fan of ‘rule books’ when it comes to make up however I’ve heard such wonderful things about this and so I was pleased to find it under the tree. I then opened some wonders from Laura Mercier. The Ambre Vanillé Honey Bath, Ambre Vanillé Soufflé Body Cream, Creme Brûlée Soufflé Body Cream and the Fan Powder makeup brush. I have been using the body soufflés day and night since I got them and I think they’re an amazing moisturizer. Not too thick at all and they sink into the skin beautifully …

Review: Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré

My go-to moisturiser is and I’m pretty sure always will be, Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream. This is a product seriously worth the hype, I did a review here if you want to know more. Since I did that review, I’ve had some requests for a cheaper alternative since 50ml Magic Cream retails for £70. I have been trying and testing many and I think Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré is the closest bet. “Lait-Crème Concentré Nourishing Moisturiser has a creamy milk consistency which leaves a satin veil of moisture on even the driest of skin types and leaves the complexion plumped, smooth and incredibly soft. Signs of dryness and discomfort are eliminated whilst the skin is left beautifully moisturised, nourished and repaired with a revitalised and radiant appearance.” I have found Crème Concentré doesn’t reduce my dry skin as well as Magic Cream however it is a  good dupe. I find it very moisturising with a lovely scent that only lingers for a moment. It melts into your skin effortlessly and it’s creamy constancy is lovely to …
