The House of Christian Dior

When I think of Christian Dior Couture, I think of elegance, romance and beautiful silhouettes. I picture gorgeous tailoring, Paris and Princess Diana. I envision the lady boss that is Charlize Theron and the delicacy of Natalie Portman in a Miss Dior couture gown. I think of 30, Avenue Montaigne and I also consider the man himself, the couturier – the founder of the House of Christian Dior. Now, I think it’s about time I address my obscene fascination with one of the worlds greatest fashion houses. I fell madly in love with Dior after spending a serendipitous afternoon admiring everything from ballerina flats to lilac silk scarves, back in January 2016. I remember previously visiting the very same boutique back when I was 16 and discovering luxury fashion for the first time. It was just as magical now as it was back then. I have found the associates in Dior to be second to non. From New Bond Street to Dubai, I have never had such incredible customer service. The way my SA understands my …

21

On Thursday 31st March, I celebrated my 21st Birthday. Who am I kidding? I celebrated my birthday for about three weeks, and it was utterly wonderful. The preparations began back in January, when I went scouting for my gift, the gift I would buy for myself and one that was fitting for a 21st. I initially wandered into Chanel, thinking an iconic Double Flap would be my bag of choice, as I have lusted after one for 10 years. However, I didn’t have the princess moment I was hoping for and swiftly drifted in and then out again of Saint Laurent, again with disappointment. Surprised at my lack of interest thus far yet still eager as ever, I found myself seated elegantly in Christian Dior, supping champagne (something I never usually do!) and admiring a Lady. It was exactly a month later that I purchased my large Lady Dior bag in black lambskin with gold-tone hardware. I felt like Princess Diana and it was romantic and magical… exactly how I imagined and hoped it would …

Chanel Slingbacks

I purchased my first pair of Chanel shoes back in January 2012, they were the two-tone classic flat in lambskin leather and I felt like a princess! There is something about Chanel that I am obsessed with. I adore the heritage, the classic yet contemporary style and the chic vibes. I am all about investing in key fashion accessories that are timeless and I feel Chanel is the perfect avenue to go down when it comes to investment pieces. When I was in London a few weeks ago, the suede slingbacks were out of stock and so I didn’t think I would manage to score a pair. About a week later I called a few boutiques in London but couldn’t quite nail down a re-stock date from an assistant. Luckily, I have a connection from the Manchester boutique in Selfridges and dropped her an email. My name was added to the waiting list and just four days later I got THE call! From my experience with my other pairs of shoes from Chanel, I knew I …

The September Issue ’15

As you may know, September is the single most important month in fashion, it is the month of the four most significant weeks in the industry: Fashion Week! As NYFW has come to an end and LFW is well underway, I thought it was most appropriate to breakdown all the takeaways from the September Issues and fill you in on all the standout trends you need to be incorporating into your autumn wardrobe. Think androgynous yet feminine, think the return of the Mary Jane and think camel coats. September is the month to embrace tailoring, tweed and turtlenecks – am I the only one getting overexcited?! There is something about fashion that I find so empowering and nothing brings me more delight than flicking through the September Issue! Well, other than brunch but let’s be honest, the September Issue comes pretty damn close to Eggs Benedict, a freshly squeezed juice and a skinny latte, right? This year I was determined not to miss out on any autumn trends, celebrity interviews or Gigi Hadid editorials and …

Fall Footwear Edit

Now that September is coming to a close, I assume this late summer is going to conclude, so it’s that time again- to initiate the discussion of fall footwear! As much as everyone else adores summer, I prefer autumn and so my fall favourites have been unboxed once again. My Chanel sandals have been gently stored away and the boots and loafers are back. The first shoe that is essential for fall is a boot. I love this take on a classic, the Chelsea boot in burgundy leather. These are from Jones; I purchased them two years ago for £120 however you can still get boots alike on the high street. The maroon leather was right on point then since burgundy was the colour of the season back in 2012, however I do think it is timeless for autumn and perfect paired with some slim fit denim. An ankle boot is very wearable and easy to dress up or down. The burgundy is an ideal alternative to black too. Second is the androgynous take on …
