It’s day 3 post hair wash and I’m swiping on layers of Rodin lipstick in the hopes that no one will notice. I curl my eye lashes up to the sky and begin to coat them with Glossier Lash Slick, £14 for the first time – within moments I can tell it’s going to be my greatest lash day ever.
When it comes to getting ready in the morning, I can usually tell fairly early on whether it’s going to be a good hair day or whether my makeup is going to be on point but rarely do I even consider my lashes… They’re short and lifeless and even with a curl and lashings of mascara, they still disappoint.
Glossier Lash Slick is a mascara I never knew I wanted. It enhances my own lashes and gives me flexible length, separation and flutter with absolute ease and yet they just look like I’m having a good lash day.
Housed in the predictably pink packaging and delivered in the handy glossier pouch, this mascara looks wonderful both on and off my lashes. I have three other mascaras on the go at the moment but I haven’t even bothered with them since LS captured my lash loyalty.
When and if I ever got excited about buying a mascara (rare), I thought I was looking for something heavy with the name ‘false lash effect’ in the name but now I think about it, that isn’t what I wanted and is probably why I never found a favourite mascara that didn’t smudge, clump or dry out in a hot minute. We all know the pure torment of scrubbing your eyes to only give up and then wake up the next morning with sticky black paste down your face, right? Well, the Lash Slick brush coats each and every lash and the water-resistant formula never gives you midday panda eyes like some of my other mascaras and yet, it rinses away at the end of the day with warm water and my usual cleanser. What more could we ask for?!
Nothing excites me more these days than a new Glossier launch so I guess GLD could be Good Lash Day or Glossier Launch Day but either way, us millennials win.
