What I Got For Christmas 2015

As I did an identical roundup last year, I felt it would be inconsistent not to continue… Although, this time I am only going to discuss the things I bought myself for Christmas, so it’s basically a makeup haul!

Starting with makeup, the first thing I chose for myself was the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer palette in shade SC-2. I got colour matched for this at the counter and also picked up the matching Secret Camouflage brush. I have used this a few times since Christmas on blemishes and redness and I quite like it. It is the perfect shade however the consistency is pretty stiff and requires more blending than a usual creamy concealer, but it does stays put all day.

Secondly, I bought an Illamasqua Cream Blush in the shade Zygomatic. I saw this blush in Selfridges a while ago and really loved the tone.  I’ve not had chance to use it yet though and I haven’t had a cream blush from Illamasqua before, so I shall report back asap!

I made a few Space NK orders with this being one of them. The Jaclyn Hill x Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. I have been lusting after this for ages and finally got round to purchasing it. I have used this constantly since Christmas and I am obsessed!

I bought myself two items from Makeup Forever, both of which I love! First I got the Step 1 Hydrating Primer in the 15ml size. I bought the smaller tube to see how I liked it and I really do, so I think I might get a few more from the range. I also picked up the Pro Bronze Fusion in 20M, I haven’t used any other bronzer since Christmas!

From Anastasia Beverly Hills I picked up two brow products. I desperately needed a new Brow Wiz in Medium Brown as I ran out a few weeks ago and I also got the clear brow gel. Teamed together, these two ensure my brows are #onfleek at all times.

If anyone remembers, last year I got a beautyblender for Christmas… Well I used the same one this morning! I haven’t used a brush to apply my foundation in over a year! I swear by my beautyblender and cannot do my glam without it and naturally, it’s super grubby and so I ordered a new one.

Something I have been wanting to buy for months is the Dior Lip Glow and I finally went ahead and bought it. I have been using this constantly – it smells slightly minty, which I love and is seriously hydrating, balmy and leaves a subtle tint of colour. It has gone straight in my handbag and is utterly divine.

Earlier this year I began my Mac Pro Palette and this month I completed it! I will do a full post shortly, however one of the newest shadows is Sumptuous Olive and I can’t wait to try it out!  Makeup Geek eye shadows have swiftly become some of my favourites, and so my Mac Palette houses a few of those also, three of which I bought myself for Christmas, Cinderella, Sorbet and Shimma Shimma.

My makeup brush game has massively elevated this Christmas with eight new additions, one of which is the Laura Mercier Concealer brush. As well as that, I picked up two Artis brushes from Space NK, these intriguing brushes are completely new to me and yet, I am already addicted. I picked up the Oval 6 and Oval 7 and am looking to purchase a few more soon. They’re extra soft, dense and blend like a dream! I will do a full review shortly.

I then picked up four brushes from the rose gold Zoeva collection. These brushes are amazing! They definitely rival Mac and for the price point, they’re unbeatable! I bought two eye brushes, the 226 smudger and 228 luxe crease and two face brushes, 127 luxe sheer cheek and 101 luxe face definer. They’re soft, wash well and blend effortlessly with no shedding – so far so good! I also re-purchased the Real Techniques Bold Metals 201 Pencil Brush, as I dropped mine behind my radiator about 9 months ago and forgot to get another!

I went through a few face masks this year but a stand out one was the Ren Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask. I picked up another for Christmas as I noticed a difference when this was no longer my Wednesday night mask… I found myself desperately missing its ability to clear my pores and its relaxing lavender scent!

In terms of hair care, I have been using a multitude of products this year from Oribe, KMS, Bumble and Bumble and Philip Kingsley. I have been a fan of Philip Kingsley for years and so I picked up the ‘Light It Shine’ set which includes, an Elasticizer which I LOVE, Body Building shampoo, Moisture Balancing conditioner, Daily Damage Defense Spray, Swimcap cream and a hairbrush. I also re-purchased Oribe Dry Texturing spray for the third time, because it is voluminous texture in a can and I can’t live without it!

Something else I ran out of was the Kiehls Creamy Eye Treatment. I have gone through two of these already and really love the formula, plus it works very well under concealer, so I just had to buy another.

For the bath I picked up three of my favourite Lush bath bombs with lavender and honey scents and the Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake bubble bath/shower gel which smells just like cake. It would have been rude not too… Mmm Cake.

Lastly, I bought myself three books! Love x Style x Life, Garance Doré, All in Good Taste, Kate Spade New York and Tales From The Back Row, Amy Odell. I have begun Tales and I am seriously enjoying it. I pre-ordered this one over a year ago and finally have the pleasure of reading it!

I definitely splurged on myself this year however if you can’t treat yourself at Christmas, when can you? I’ve had some incredible things but I also had a wonderful few days with my family, which was truly priceless.

I hope you had a lovely Christmas and New Year and got everything you were hoping for.
