Pink Swan Painting

As you know, last year I began re-doing my room. It took over six months but I am elated with the outcome. I spent about eight weeks planning, doing mood boards, collecting swatches and samples in order to gather a strong vision. During this process, I noticed Jen Ramos – MadeByGirl, had added some new original artwork to her online store. Jen is an incredible artist from New York, who I found through Instagram a few years ago.

Jens paintings sell out within hours and so I knew I had to act fast, I placed my order and within a week it had arrived direct from New York. There is something about it that I am obsessed with. I love the colours she used and the overall construction of the swan. I am never usually drawn to buy art but I guess when you know, you just know and I just had a feeling this would be the perfect splash of colour to my bedroom, especially since I have kept everything else really neutral. The painting is acrylic on heavy bright white paper, size 11×14, with a mount and frame it’ll be a great size.

The only thing I am struggling with is a frame, I want it to match everything else, obviously and so it’s currently still wrapped and frameless. I intend to hang it above my new bed and I’m thinking a rose gold, copper or mirrored frame… I’m not sure yet but I have my eye out!

I hope to pick up some more art from Jen in the future, now that I have the interior decor bug! I’m crazy about her style, technique and colour choices so until then, I shall just enjoy my gorgeous swan!

Jen typically adds new art every few months, so do keep your eye out if you’re interested!
