15 Moments From 2015

I find it’s so easy to forget all the things you do in a year, so I have gone back through my calendar and Instagram to put together 15 memorable moments from 2015. It doesn’t feel a year ago since I did a similar round up of 2014… I’m definitely not where I hoped I would be this time last year, however new goals are set and I’m ready to make 2016 a more positive and productive year. I’m not going to go on a cliché rant about evolving and being a ‘new me’ or rubbish like that, 2016 is simply a new number to title my day planner, however I have good feelings about this one!

I not only went blonde in 2015, but I cut my hair short! I was feeling Kim K Paris Fashion week and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley vibes and surprised not only myself but my hair stylist too! I don’t imagine I will ever have long hair again…

My first ever article was published this year and I have to say, it is one of my favourite pieces I have written, talking all about the trends in September 2015 issues of fashion magazines – something I have been collecting, reading and adoring for years!

My sister not only got engaged, but she got engaged in Paris, on a magical surprise Birthday trip! I am so happy for them both and can’t wait for the wedding!

I commuted to London for work, for the first time this year with 4.45am starts. I am still trying to gather if living and working in London is going to make me happy. Don’t get me wrong, I love the LDN vibes and I am so ready to hustle however the change makes me slightly nervous.

I received my highest ever mark at uni this year with 90% in a Literature essay. I wept as I read out the essay question and despaired/procrastinated/online shopped for a week before I began writing the assignment. I was so proud and made a point of sending a gushing email of amazement to my tutor.

My sister and I had afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason a record breaking number of times and ate more cake than I ever imagined was possible. Mmm cake…

I spent a wonderful moment in Harry Winston with my sister, and ended up trying on over a million pounds’ worth of diamonds. Naturally, I gravitated straight to the engagement rings and found The One. I had my Blair Waldorf moment and it was impressively sparkly!

I redesigned my bedroom! It took over six months but it was so worth it! Carpet and fabric samples filled my LV Neverfull for weeks… But I finally have the glamour boudoir I imagined! Oh and I also purchased my first piece of original artwork!

I discovered some incredible music this year! Just to name a few: 5AM – Amber Run, Weak – Wet, Clean – The Japanese House, Just My Soul Responding – Amber Run.

I bought the biggest bouquet of peonies EVER this summer. I went everywhere looking for gorgeous flowers to fill the house for my sisters Engagement party and could not resist these for myself. They will always be my absolute fave!

Makeup! I fell in love with SO much makeup! Some of my favourite products from this year have to be Chanel Les Beiges, By Terry Balm de Rose and Burberry Earthy Blusher.

I fell in love with brunch. I mean madly, deeply in love. Whether it be at Marmadukes or Thomas’s, who doesn’t love brunch? Mmm

I discovered Thomas’s at Burberry Regent Street. I am absolutely obsessed with the food and the delicate, charming and yet comforting atmosphere. Somewhere I plan to frequent often in 2o16.

My family and I got a puppy! We lost a few of our beloved pets this year which resulted in great sadness in the Dale household. A void was filled a few months after with Bluebell, our gorgeous and naughty cocker spaniel.

I FINALLY went to the Hummingbird Bakery and bought so much cake! Ah. It was so worth it and I have a feeling I will be going westbound to South Kensington very soon *heart eyes emoji*.

I set out some key goals for the up and coming months this morning, to aid progression and motivation – writing things down often helps me envision, plan and create steps in achieving said goals. I feel like I’m usually the one in my own way and so embracing change and being proactive in all directions is my first motion.

May your 2016 be filled with wonder…
