What I Got For Christmas 2014

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year and got everything you were hoping for. I always love seeing what others got for Christmas and so I thought I would do a post myself, showing you my highlights!  I was inundated with incredible treats this year, many of which have been on my wishlist for months!

Firstly I got a few books. One I’d been thinking of getting for a while now was Pretty Honest by Sali Hughes.

I’m not a massive fan of ‘rule books’ when it comes to make up however I’ve heard such wonderful things about this and so I was pleased to find it under the tree.

I then opened some wonders from Laura Mercier. The Ambre Vanillé Honey Bath, Ambre Vanillé Soufflé Body Cream, Creme Brûlée Soufflé Body Cream and the Fan Powder makeup brush.

I have been using the body soufflés day and night since I got them and I think they’re an amazing moisturizer. Not too thick at all and they sink into the skin beautifully leaving you soft, silky and smelling positively divine!!

The Ambre Vanillé scent has swiftly become my new addiction. I adore the sweet fragrance and the products are amazing, definitely my new body and bath favs!

The fan brush is something else I have been lusting after recently, perfect for a light dusting of powder to set concealer and diminish any shine.

To go with my fan bush I have a new loose powder. I much prefer loose powder over pressed and this one is lovely.

The Nars Light Reflecting Powder was on my December wishlist and is the new addition to my makeup collection. It lightly mattifys and gives a radiant glow to the skin without looking cakey.

I’ve been feeling super vampy recently, regularly reaching for dark lipsticks and so I was more than excited to receive the Rouge Noir collection from Chanel.

The lipliner in Vamp 09, the Nail Colour in Rouge Noir 18  and matching lipstick, 109 were all packaged in a beautiful Chanel box and were what I sported throughout Christmas and New Year.

When wearing such dark shades, I find a lipliner an absolute essential, lining and filling in the lip entirely makes such a difference to the longevity of your lipstick. Rouge Noir is such a Chanel classic, one I am thrilled to add to my collection.

Continuing the Vamp vibe, I also got a Nars Satin lip crayon in Palais Royal and matching gloss in Sixties Fan.

I’ve been wearing this combination non-stop this week and found myself getting so many compliments when I’m out and about.

I use the Chanel lipliner in number 54 to darken the look. Both go amazingly well with Rouge Noir, for a fierce and glossy look!

From my Dad for our family Secret Santa, I got my favourite beauty product of all time, the amazing Charlotte Tilbury Magic Cream! I adore this product. My skin gets so dry, especially through the winter months and this magical formula is a match made in heaven with my dull complexion. After just 2 days I can see a dramatic difference in my skin.

On the theme of skincare, my brother picked me up some Dr. Organic Snail Gel. My Mum and Sister have been raving about it for weeks now and so I was delighted to receive some for myself. The targeted treatment for the face and body is incredible, it effectively soothes and hydrates the skin and now, I really wouldn’t be without it!

Something else high on my wishlist recently has been the Tom Ford Traceless Foundation Stick. I featured this on my October Wishlist and finally I’ve got my hands on it! I adore this product. It’s a medium to high coverage foundation, beautifully packaged and ideal for the winter months as that extra coverage is more than welcome!

To apply my foundation I always reach for a sponge to bounce the product into my skin for a more even and natural look and so getting a brand new Beauty Blender is always a treat! Since I have a dry skin, using a sponge over a brush always makes for a more flawless finish.

My Sister knows me well! Finding a beautifully wrapped Jo Malone gift under the tree was an utter delight. The Wood Sage & Sea Salt fragrance is amazing, filling the room with a beautiful scent and making me never wanting to blow it out! I do love candles….

UGG slippers are something I always want but never end up buying, so when I found these waiting for me under the tree I instantly knew I would never want to take them off! Perfect timing as well, since it has been so very cold these past few weeks! A definite recommendation if you’re a slipper kinda gal.

Lastly, the star of the show, my one true love, my Tom Ford Noir De Noir Private Blend fragrance was my absolute indulgence this Christmas. Perfume is one of my favourite things and so receiving this was amazing!

This was also something featured in my October Wishlist. Noir De Noir is dark and indulgent, the oriental and middle-eastern aroma vividly reminds me of my journeys through Dubai and the enchanting Marrakech medina. It’s like Tom Ford has bottled my travels and I had to have it!

Thank you to all my family for my beautiful gifts, I am unbelievably grateful! I received some incredible things this year but I also had a wonderful few days with my family, which was truly priceless.
