2014

Be it Twitter, Facebook or Instagram, each is currently bursting with New Year wishes, thanks and details of the ‘amazing year’. I am staggered by how great 2014 was for so many as I scroll down to see ‘2014 was my best year yet, bring on 2015!’ over fifty times.

This past year certainly flew by quicker than I ever anticipated. I wish I could join the masses and praise the last 12 months but 2014 has been the hardest year of my life, with each month came new and unexpected setbacks, right from the get-go.

However, there were a few highlights… My Dad turned the big 5-0, my brother graduated with a First Class Honours Degree, my sister moved into a beautiful new house, I started writing EKD and most importantly, Frankie Doo turned one!

2014 was also the year I discovered Suits, Amelia Liana, denim on denim, Diptique, Gossip Girl, Lena Dunham, The Great British Bake-Off, scrunchies, Tyler Oakley, Magic Cream, Covetique and Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer!

In the last twelve months, I have learned never to rely on anyone, never do anything simply to please others and never care what people think of you. Stand up for what you believe in, even if it means making your life that little bit harder and always treasure the moment you’re living.

Do more of what makes you happy and drop those that bring you down. Basically a whole lot of clichés… I have learned to embrace the cliché!

I am so thankful for the support I’ve had for EKD, I began this on a whim on May 10th and I feel I have truly grown with it. I look forward to a new year of beauty, fashion and writing. I hope you all continue to join me in my pursuit of happiness and the perfect shade of nude lipstick.

May 2015 bless you with wonder.

And thanks for being such an inspiration Emily, your post is a great reminder to live our dreams and not mind what people think as long as we believe in ourselves. I hope you have an amazing year to come dear!! All the best to you and your amazing blog EKD! Looking forward to amazing posts from you in 2015! 🙂 xo~ Lena
