My first essential, one I cannot live without, is my Anastasia Brow Wiz in medium brown. I think dark and perfect brows are pretty overdone now, sometimes a makeup look does call for strong brows however on a daily basis it just isn’t necessary.
To create my natural yet defined brow I always reach for my Brow Wiz, gently feathering hair strokes to imitate my own hairs. I find the perfect shade for me is Medium Brown, it is around 1-2 shades lighter than my hair colour since darker brows and lighter hair can often look a bit much. The Brow Wiz also comes with a great brow brush.
My second essential is my favourite beauty product of all time. The Queen of concealers, my Kevyn Aucoin Sensual Skin Enhancer in SXO2. This multi-use product is 18g of heaven. Typical concealers contain 0.5-6g of product, this has 18g and you only need the smallest amount. I’ve had mine over 6 months and not even dinted the top!
I use this primarily as a concealer but those with problematic skin could use it as a foundation for maximum coverage. My tip for those with problematic skin though, is to use a light coverage foundation all over, then use a high coverage concealer and work it into the areas needed, that way people will not be able to tell since the majority of your face has minimal makeup.
When using the Sensual Skin Enhancer, I find it best to use a small fluffy brush, preferably synthetic. I begin by dabbing a tiny amount on the back of my hand to warm the product up, which is what I do with every product, by doing so, products mesh better with your skin. I then dab it under my eyes, around my nose and chin and anywhere I wish to conceal. I then work it in to the skin with a Beauty Blender and layer where necessary, for that flawless finish.
Lastly, the essential palette which it wonderfully simple, pigmented and blends like a dream – Urban Decay Naked Basics! I use this almost everyday for a subtle or dramatic smokey eye, depending on my mood.
I use Soft Ochre by Mac as a base to ensure longevity and then use the two brown taupe shades (Naked 2 & Faint) to define my crease and blend over the lid. The black is great to tight line and the lighter colours for highlighting under the brow and the inner corner of the eye.
All in all the shadows are fantastic. I really adore this palette, terribly easy to blend and last all day without creasing, you really can’t go wrong!
These are my Daley essentials, what are yours? I’d love to know!
