As we shiver through the winter months, I do believe our skin suffers the most. My dry skin gradually deteriorates as the temperature descends… to my utter dismay!
My first tip is to use a clay mask. I have multiple, however my favourite at the moment is the REN Clarimatte Invisible Pores Detox Mask. I tend to reach for this around twice a week, leaving it on for 30 minutes before gently rising off with warm water.
This particular mask is “formulated with French Clay to draw out impurities, remove excess sebum and eliminate dead skin cells.” I find it leaves my skin glowing, fresh and definitely soothes my tired complexion. Wearing makeup regularly leaves my t-zone somewhat oily so this mask minimises that, without drying my skin out.
My second tip, something everyone should be doing, is exfoliating. Exfoliating your skin is necessary to keep it in a healthy and glowing condition. I recommend exfoliating once a week, although for me, often twice is needed since my dry skin can worsen through winter. I use a body exfoliator which works well for my skin without breaking me out, however gentler facial ones are available which are less harsh. This particular one is also really inexpensive.
My third tip is to use a hydrating mask. My favourite is this multi-use product which I firstly use as a cleanser, to hydrate yet cleanse my complexion at the same time. The Charlotte Tilbury Miracle Balm does just that. It can also be used as a mask, which I use three or four times a week, around an hour before I do my makeup. This balm has an intensive hydrating formula, leaving your skin baby soft and rejuvenated. Combined with my Magic Cream, my skin is in the best condition it has ever been, without any dry patches! When I read about this product online, I knew I had to have it!
“It’s a Balm-Breakthrough! Introducing my multi-transforming, multi-miraculous 3-in-1 skin remedy: a deep cleansing face balm with anti-wrinkle benefits; a regenerating mask with an “overnight facial” finish; and a “go-anywhere” SOS remedy that you can use on cuticles, elbows, heels and shins to cheat the body of an angel! It’s a miracle-worker that I rely on backstage, from red carpet events to swimwear shoots.” – Charlotte Tilbury
Lastly, I think the greatest tip is to moisturise, even if you have oily skin. What do you use to keep your skin glowing and hydrated? I’d love to know!
